Design
We are designers who can propose design interventions that support the six principles and help create communities where everyone can thrive at scales that range from home interiors to urban planning.
Affordable housing redesign
The “before” version is a 2-bedroom affordable housing apartment (1,011 sq. ft.) from one of Minneapolis’ largest affordable housing providers—Aeon’s Ripley Gardens. The “after” scheme moves the kitchen to the right to create a space where a family member cooking can connect with another family member eating or working at the kitchen table. A compartmentalized bathroom that accommodates more users and bedrooms separated for privacy support extended families, an instrumental means of adaptation. Space dedicated to studying communicates the value of education.
